Fresh bananas can make a fun wedding cake filling

At Love Island Cakes we’re always on the lookout for great new ideas for your wedding cake for your wedding in Cyprus.

And our latest fun idea is a unique banana filling.

Maybe you’ve noticed the banana groves growing near the sea around Paphos, Kissonerga, Coral Bay, Sea Caves and Agios Georgios. Cyprus is famous for its bananas – and fresh off the tree they taste great. So of course they’re the perfect ingredient for your Cyprus wedding cake. When used in a cake they’re yummy – you enjoy a moist wedding cake with a hint of the texture of bananas.

We held a tasting to try out the new banana wedding cakes. At the cake tasting, we thought the cake was just right, not too sweet but with a coating of sugarpaste would really bring out the full flavour of the bananas.

Chopped pecan nuts (which also grow in Cyprus) would make a great addition and for a really rich cake how about some chocolate chips! Unique in Cyprus to Love Island Cakes, enjoy a banana wedding cake.

Just wanted to say we are back in cold UK, not loving it much. Really didn't want to leave lol.
We both wanted to say thank you for making the most amazing cake, I only wish I had ordered a bigger one, we appeared to have some greedy guests lol!! I loved it, it tasted amazing, I think everyone went back for seconds and possibly thirds, well, apart from me - I was too full I think with all the excitement of the day. I am pleased that everyone enjoyed and all the guests said how gorgeous it looked.
I would also like to thank you for all your support on the build up to the wedding, I have to say between you and Nicky of Cyprus Images you have both been amazing and such lovely people too, which made things so easy.

Hello Jackie,
Well it's been a week and we are still married - so all good here! We just wanted to say thank you so much for the wonderful wedding 'cake' - it looked and tasted delicious, and was something everyone was really excited about. Happily we even managed to save the top pie to freeze in tradition, and will get to enjoy on our anniversary.

I'm just so grateful that you were able to accomodate our rather odd request at such short notice - it was perfect. More than we had hoped for, and I can't thank you enough for making it possible. We had so many compliments on how yummy it was.

I'm sure you already took pictures, but thought you might like to see the attached of us with the cake.
