Latest fashions in Wedding Cakes in CyprusThis is the time of year there's lots of chat around the fashions for wedding cakes in the coming year.  This year is special – the start of the next decade!

The bride-to-be who's getting married in 2010 will have been planning her special day for a while.  By now she'll have chosen her dress and her main theme colours.

One of the elements that can be left until close to the wedding is the design of the wedding cake. Here's an opportunity to have the latest style of cake to wow her guests.

Retro is in

Everyone’s talking ‘retro’… clean, strong lines with intricate piping and that means WHITE. That’s good  - white creates a big effect that stands out in the sun or good lighting. The piping can be in a simple design, perhaps based on a detail in the brides dress.

Cakes are getting taller

Cakes are getting taller – back to the days of deep cakes towering up with pillars or separators but with a 21st century twist – cakes that are narrower. That means portion size is going to be different so ask your cake designer for a cutting guide.

If you want a colour on your cake then consider the whole cake in that colour with interesting detail in the same shade. The days of coloured ribbons around the tiers of a white or ivory cake are disappearing – according to a bride recently, ‘quite tacky’. Not really, just a fashion that's fading.

A good cake designer with a passion will work with brides’ ideas and come up with a design that really will be a glowing centrepiece of the reception.

Kind Words

  • Hi Hunni

Just wanted to say we are back in cold UK, not loving it much. Really didn't want to leave lol.

We both wanted to say thank you for making the most amazing cake, I only wish I had ordered a bigger one, we appeared to have some greedy guests lol!! I loved it, it tasted amazing, I think everyone went back for seconds and possibly thirds, well, apart from me - I was too full I think with all the excitement of the day. I am pleased that everyone enjoyed and all the guests said how gorgeous it looked.

I would also like to thank you for all your support on the build up to the wedding, I have to say between you and Nicky of Cyprus Images you have both been amazing and such lovely people too, which made things so easy.

Lots of Love, Kirsty & Steve xxx
