For great wedding pictures...We all know that the photographs are the lasting, tangible memory of your special day. Every bride wants their wedding cake photographed in a beautiful location - by the sea, in a pretty garden, perhaps with the sun setting in the background. Photographers understand this and make great pictures of couples cutting their wedding cake in the sunshine. Using a wedding cake stand or even a wedding cake table (made to be taller) can make your wedding pictures much better because you won't be stooped over the cake for the 'cake-cutting' shot. If your budget will stand it, choose a tiered wedding cake for the same reason. You won't regret it. By working together, the photographer, the reception venue and the wedding cake supplier can help make the perfect picture for you to treasure. How should the cake be displayed? We try to make sure that the wedding cake is displayed on a high table with a cake stand so that it has 'presence' and will fit well into the pictures. If the wedding cake has a front and a back, we make sure that the cake is displayed with its 'best side' to the front in the location provided by the venue and choosing the best background. This means that we deliver and set up as close to the time the wedding cake is required as possible. Can the cake stand the heat?In Cyprus the wedding cake is usually cut straight after the wedding ceremony. This means that it's likely to be standing in direct sunlight or dappled shade for about an hour before it's cut. Between June and October the temperature is hot. Classic made English-style wedding cakes cope really well. Decorated in sugarpasteSugarpaste is a smooth sugar coating with a soft sheen that can be any colour or royal icing they can be left on display for a number of hours. That gives you the choice of cutting the wedding cake at the end of the meal rather than directly after the ceremony. We're often asked for buttercream swirls on cup cakes or cakes coated in chocolate. Nice idea, but what'll happen in the sunshine? As we try to create exactly what you want, we need lots of information about where the wedding cake will be displayed and how long for. We'll know if something's not going to work, and we'll come up with alternatives that'll delight you, be great to eat and will look good in your photographs. |
